Colombia is one of the largest coffee producers in the world, with Arabica grown by hundreds of thousands of small farmers on steep Andean slopes. Because the country has different rainy seasons in different areas, coffee is harvested nearly all year. The coffee is generally washed, and has a balanced, sweet cup, with regional differences from Huila, Nariño and Cauca.
