Idukki is a mountain district in Kerala, better known for cardamom, pepper and other spices. Coffee is grown here as part of mixed farms in the shade of tall trees. The hills are wet and cool, with heavy monsoon rains. The coffee is a smaller part of Kerala's crop than Wayanad's.
