Coorg, officially Kodagu, is a hill district in Karnataka that grows more coffee than any other district in India, and a large share of it is Robusta. The plantations are laid out under a canopy of tall shade trees together with pepper, cardamom and oranges. The hills are wet during the monsoon and misty in the cooler months, and the coffee is often processed on the estate.
