Arabica is the main coffee species grown around the world, and it makes up roughly 60 to 70 percent of all coffee. It grows best at higher, cooler altitudes, and it takes more care than Robusta because it is more easily hurt by disease, heat and drought. In the cup it is usually sweeter, more aromatic and more complex, with fruit, flowers, chocolate and nuts, and a gentle acidity.

Is Arabica better than Robusta?
Most specialty coffee is Arabica because it is sweeter, more aromatic and more complex. Robusta has a place too, for its strength, thick crema and caffeine. Better depends on the drink you want.
Are KAIVO blends Arabica?
Yes. KAIVO says all five of its blends are 100 percent Arabica from Indian estates.
